Assisting multicultural women experiencing Family or Domestic Violence (FDV)
MWAS promotes the safety of women, with or without children, from migrant and refugee backgrounds. The service is available to women who are recent arrivals or long-term residents.
Women may be in crisis situations, in refuges, still remaining in their relationships or re-establishing themselves in the community after leaving refuges.
Cost
This is a free service.
Referrals
Women can self-refer or be referred by a service provider via the referral form below.
Support and Assistance
All services at MWAS are provided in a supportive and safe environment. All WHFS staff members are female, and can provide assistance with:
- Discussing available options
- Safety planning
- Applying for a restraining order
- Obtaining support and advice from legal services
- Referrals to other agencies (including counselling services & child protection)
