Back to School – Giving Program
Womens Health & Family Services assist many women and their families through a variety of individual and support programs. Education is a key focus so “Help a child start school in 2019”. For just $30 per child we can help with a start up kit – school backpack, water bottle and some basic stationery needs.
Education programs for women and scholarships
Donations help educate vulnerable women in community centres through Certificate II Leadership courses run by WHFS and South Metropolitan TAFE.
This qualification is a good stepping stone for women wishing to:
- undertake further studies,
- enter the work force
- and/ or become more actively involved in their community.
Participants will learn basic leadership skills suitable for a range of industries and career groups. Students skills include: occupational health and safety, how to chair meetings (including preparing agendas and taking minutes), computing skills, developing and implementing a project, working with others in a team, and more!
Donations will also contribute to venue costs, course materials and scholarships for women who can’t afford the course fees.
WHFS clients have many needs so WHFS undertakes fundraising for many special projects. We are currently raising funds to contribute to crèche costs, which enable women to attend appointments and groups whilst their children are cared for in a special crèche facility at our sites.
